Welcome to My Little Explorers
Forest Nursery
In September 2022, My Little Explorers was proud to open our brand new all-day, year-round forest nursery. Situated on the Broadlands Estate at Toothill, between Romsey and Southampton, this setting is surrounded by mixed farming, grazing, and woodland.
Our Toothill nursery offers the same facilities as our Farley Mount location but operates from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year. We provide 30 childcare places for children aged 6 months to 5 years. We have limited spaces for 6 - 24 months so please register your interest as early as possible to secure a place.
"Children become immersed in the natural world as they take part in a broad range of exciting activities in this highly stimulating forest school provision."

Flutterby's
6 - 24 mo.
At My Little Explorers Forest Nursery, our designated Flutterby area offers sensory-rich, child-led outdoor learning experiences for ages 6 - 24 months. We offer age-appropriate activities like bug hunting and mud painting, stimulating senses, motor skills, and cognitive abilities. Safety is our priority as we foster nature connections and holistic development through play and exploration.
36 - 60 mo.
For our 2-3-year-olds, we provide a dynamic outdoor environment fostering curiosity and independence. We offer child-led activities like nature crafts, storytelling, and imaginative play, focusing on sensory experiences and age-appropriate challenges. We promote language development through nature discussions and encourage social skills via collaborative play.

Buzzy Bees
24 - 36 mo.

Bumbles
36 - 60 mo.
At My Little Explorers Forest Nursery, our 3-5-year-olds enjoy rich outdoor experiences that spark curiosity and creativity. We encourage independence through activities like shelter building, nature art, and mud kitchen play. Under careful guidance, children explore basic tool use, enhancing fine motor skills. Campfire stories and nature walks boost language development, while group projects foster social skills and shared learning in our natural setting.

With our new site we have the opportunity to develop more facilities such as an on-site Explorers Kitchen to provide healthy meals for children, a Growing Plot for budding gardeners and Snooze Cabins so that children can take a proper nap during the day. Post pandemic, it is really important for young children to socialize again and regain their confidence. Following the Early Years curriculum, we build a strong foundation for future learning.
